An interview with Realize!
Realize! is based in Amsterdam and was founded in October of 2006 by Diederick Janse, Jeroen Maes and Thomas Vaassen (its original birth is a bit of a long story).
Realize! supports the development of conscious people in conscious organizations. But, what good are 'conscious people' to an organization? "Imagine the opposite: an organization in which everyone -shop floor to management- works on autopilot; where people are guided only by self-interest, habits and spreadsheets. Sound familiar?" Jeroen: "We offer ways of leading, communicating, collaborating, organizing, decision making, measuring and monitoring, which wake an organization up, rather than rocking it to sleep, as many existing management models and change methods do."
"Real change starts from the inside out!" That's why Realize! is committed to its own development, both personal and professional. "Realize! is about the awareness of your own potential and of what's happening in the world around you," says Diederick. "But it also refers to manifesting, to making something 'real'; that's the other side of the same coin," Jeroen adds. Thomas: "It often appears that a workshop or training offers an experience which people can draw their own consequences from, but one experience of a few hours or days is rarely enough to make real change happen. That's the key. It takes much more time and particularly practice to really make this shift and consolidate it in organizational structures.”
