Never outvote the fuel gauge!
Each individual is a valuable 'sensor' with access to a unique field of information. In the cockpit of an airplace, the airspeed indicator, the altimeter and the voltage meter may all say we're doing fine, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't care about what the fuel gauge has to say! So it's not important whether everyone on the team shares or even recognizes the same objection. What is important, is that the organization integrates into the decision the important insights and information that may be behind such an objection!
Most desicion-making processes frequently 'outvote the fuel gauge', and by doing so, they needlessly create avoidable risks for the organization. Other governance methods opt for endless discussion in order to gain consensus. Realize! works with holacracy, a governance practice for organizations which manages to avoid both of these pitfalls. On the basis of tangible proposals and (possible) objections, a practical and workable decision is taken. Teams and organizations working with holacracy are saying it's a breath of fresh air!
